Updates to p-ret-adm-01- Items General Retrieval Form

November 19th, 2009

Good morning!

The OLIS has enriched the Items General Retrieval Form by adding another Report Format option.  The Retrieval Form is found in the both the Circulation and Cataloging modules on the Services menu under:

Items / General Retrieval Form (ret-adm-01)

The new report format, which is 2nd in the list, provides the following information in the output:   Doc/Bib Number, Collection Code, Call Number, Description,Author, Title, Year,  Item Processing Status, Barcode, and Number of Loans (from the Item Record)

The form that provides the output is:

     [your_campus]01/form_eng/general-retrieval-form-10.xsl

A copy, for archival purposes is:

  [your_campus]01/form_eng/general-retrieval-form-10.xsl.v18_sny

The OLIS designed this form based on recent Footprint requests.

Enjoy!

Serials Solutions offline (10/24/09 3am ~ 5am)

October 19th, 2009

Subsequent update (apologies for extra messages) -

Dear Serials Solutions Customer,

I apologize for the inconvenience this maintenance window has caused. Our original schedule was in direct conflict with our clients in Asia Pacific and in the Southern Hemisphere, where they are finishing up their school years. In an attempt to accommodate this our subsequent schedule had notable impact on North American customers. In light of this, we have forced our provider to open a new window to better minimize the effect on all our global customers.

The new window is scheduled to upgrade our systems on Saturday, October 24, from 12:01 am PDT (Saturday, October 24, from 0701 GMT). As a result of this upgrade, all services (Serials Solutions 360 services, Client Center, Ulrich’s, and Summon) may become unavailable. Our work will be completed in 2 hours. After the work is performed IP addresses are spawned across the world by network providers and services will return as networks are updated. Since network providers vary in their responsiveness we wanted to alert you to a worst case outage of 4 additional hours for a total of 6 hours. I believe your window of downtime will be much less, probably 2 to 3 hours total.

I appreciate your patience and understanding.
