From: Schumacher, J Sent: Friday, July 18, 2003 2:39 PM To: SUNYConnect LMS - Current and earlier implementers Cc: Schumacher, J Subject: [sunylms] SUNYConnection #37 (pls.excuse duplicates) The SUNYConnection Issue # 37 July 18, 2003 ------------------------------------------------------------------ SUNYCONNECT LMS PROGRESS REPORT + Group4 training is well underway; Alfred State, Alfred University, Ceramics, Corning, and Jamestown have their first test databases; test databases due this week have been delayed; initial planning meetings have been completed. + Fredonia's ALEPH system has been upgraded to version 14.2 and is housed on the westaleph server. + A new SUNYConnect union catalog prototype was scheduled to be available for initial testing on June 15, 2003. The prototype, available as of this week, includes the catalogs of Binghamton, Cayuga, Cortland, Oneonta, Stony Brook Health Sciences, Sullivan and Upstate Medical. The Data Management Working Group will be evaluating the prototype. SUNYCONNECT DATABASES / ELECTRONIC RESOURCES + SUNYConnect database / electronic resource inquiries should be directed to Mr. Carey Hatch. + The OLIS has contracted with Abigail Bordeaux (Binghamton) to provide additional SFX assistance. + AccuNet/AP Multimedia Archive is adding the WAV format for their 600,000 audio files in the next 30 days. + Carla Hendrix (Plattsburgh) has been asked to take over as SLiCAT convener. ADDITIONAL SUNYCONNECT NEWS + Sandy Card (Binghamton) is chairing NAAUG's Cataloging/ Authorities Enhancement Group. Other SUNY librarians involved in the overall ALEPH enhancements process are Natalie Sturr (Oswego), Abigail Bordeaux (Binghamton - OPAC) and Kathleen Loomis-Sacco (Fredonia - OPAC) + Congratulations to Clare Field (nee' Merrill) of OLIS on her recent marriage. + Congratulations to Larry Randall on his retirement.
