The SUNY Digital Repository has seen steady growth.
Approximately 20 SUNY institutions are at one level of
participation or another; 80 collections and growing;
19,000+ items (as of January 2007). Since its inception
through January, items in the repository have been accessed
over 80,000 times. Albany - Philosophy Department - a textbook in logic by Assistant Professor P.D.Magnus; Brockport - Writers Forum - "Founded in 1967 as an ancillary to the Department of English, the Writers Forum is widely recognized as one of the outstanding reading series in the country. A unique audiovisual project, the Writers Forum Videotape Library was started in 1968 and currently contains more than 300 interviews, readings, and discussions of craft with major contemporary authors." Streaming video is available from the repository for an expanding number of these interviews including Ray Gonzalez, Judith Kitchen, David Rothenberg). Optometry - electronic theses and dissertations (in progress); Stony Brook - College of Engineering and Sciences - Community Members' Scholarship - over 500 papers "The SUNY Community Colleges: An Oral History of the First
30 Years," Neal Robbins Project Coordinator and Editor (in
progress) - over 100 interviews with early leaders of the
SUNY community colleges. OLIS hopes to include both
interview transcripts as well as audio files for many of
the interviews. |
