With version 18, the OLIS introduces a reengineered New Titles List. Although the “look & feel” differs only slightly from the current Lists, there are major changes in how the new Lists are generated. This new “edition” is significantly easier to maintain, establishes a standardized application, and is considerably more reliable and stable. The SQL scripts that retrieve the contents of the Lists remain the same for each campus. At the top of the List, the campus logo and introductory information also remains the same. The LC or Dewey section will be standardized, providing increased functionality for many campuses. The format of each entry or citation will be standardized, and have a cleaner look than in version 16. Campuses will have the opportunity to include the Syndetics graphics and links; however, those with long Lists are cautioned that these pages take a long time to load and consume network resources. What to expect If your campus currently has a New Titles List, a sample list will be available when you receive your /dev side. This list, based on /dev data, will not be refreshed each week. If your campus is interested in including Syndetics links, please submit a Footprints request. As part of the /prod upgrade, the new edition of the New Titles List will be created. It will be refreshed each Monday morning. If your campus does not currently have a New Titles List, you may request one after your campus is in production with version 18.
